Only the first runner enters the start area. Please arrive in good time.

How the relay works

You can take part with fewer than six runners

Do not have six runners? No problem. You can also run the relay marathon as a team of five, four or three.

Finishing together

All team members may cross the finish line together. Medals, drinks, fruit, pastries, massage and hot showers await you in the finish area.

Flexible changeovers

• There are no compulsory changeover points: you decide when and where to change runners.
• Official changeover stations mark convenient handover points along the course.
• In principle, you may change runners anywhere, provided you are considerate of others.

Race packs and relay baton

Each team receives the following at race-number collection:

• One race number per participant
• A relay baton containing the timing chip

Pass the baton at each changeover and return it after finishing.

Example for a team of six runners

These suggested legs are an example. Your team can choose its own changeover points.

1. Runner 1 – approximately 7.5 km

   From the start at CCW to the Dreikronenstraße changeover area, between Friedensbrücke and Alte Mainbrücke at the refreshment station.

   

2. Runner 2 – approximately 6 km

   From the Dreikronenstraße changeover area, between Friedensbrücke and Alte Mainbrücke at the refreshment station, to the Ludwigkai changeover area at the aid station near Sonnenstraße.

   

3. Runner 3 – approximately 5 km

   From the Ludwigkai changeover area at the aid station near Sonnenstraße to the changeover area near the cathedral, at the aid station.

   

4. Runner 4 – approximately 10 km

   From the changeover area near the cathedral, at the aid station, to the Dreikronenstraße changeover area, between Friedensbrücke and Alte Mainbrücke at the refreshment station.

   

5. Runner 5 – approximately 6 km

   From the Dreikronenstraße changeover area, between Friedensbrücke and Alte Mainbrücke at the refreshment station, to the Ludwigkai changeover area at the aid station near Sonnenstraße.

   

6. Runner 6 – approximately 6.5 km

   From the Ludwigkai changeover area at the aid station near Sonnenstraße to the finish at CCW at kilometre 42.195.
