WVV Marathon Würzburg
WVV Marathon Würzburg – the spring classic
Two laps through the city center, past Würzburg’s most beautiful sights, enthusiastic spectators along the course, and a shared finish in the heart of the city.

Whether it’s your first marathon or a seasoned competition – the WVV Marathon offers the perfect mix of atmosphere, route, and genuine Würzburg hospitality. The course is officially measured according to DLV standards.

Awards Ceremony
The top finishers in the overall rankings will be honored after the respective races.
According to the athletics regulations, only the gun time – the time from the starting shot to crossing the finish line – counts for placement.
If the net time were used instead, it could happen that runners starting from later positions finish with a faster time but do not cross the finish line first. This would diminish the excitement for spectators, athletes, and media. The first person to cross the finish line should be the winner and celebrated accordingly.
Prizes for top age group runners
Awards will be given to the top male and female runners in each age group.
The top three finishers in each age group in the half marathon and marathon can look forward to attractive prizes.
No prize money will be awarded.
Note for international participants
The WVV Marathon Würzburg does not provide any benefits or special services for international participants.
No prize money will be awarded, and no invitations for visa applications will be issued.
