Awards
The leading finishers in the overall standings are honoured after their respective races.
Under the athletics regulations, places are determined solely by gun time — the time from the starting signal until the runner crosses the finish line.
If chip time were used instead, runners starting further back could record a faster running time without being the first to cross the finish line. That would take away the suspense for spectators, athletes and the media. The first runner across the line should also be the winner and be celebrated accordingly.
Prizes for the top age-group runners
There are awards for the top women and men in each age group. The first three finishers in every age group in the half marathon and marathon can look forward to prizes.
No prize money is paid.
Information for international participants
WVV Marathon Würzburg does not offer benefits or special services to participants from abroad. No prize money is paid, and no invitations are issued for visa applications.
