WVV Half Marathon Würzburg – the spring classic over 21.1 kilometers
May 25, 2025 marks the start of the WVV Half Marathon – together with the full marathon at 9:00 a.m.
The course takes runners on a scenic loop through Würzburg’s city center, past its most famous landmarks and along the River Main.
Cheering spectators, live music groups, and the finish line at the Congress Centrum create a truly special atmosphere.

Awards Ceremony
The top finishers in the overall rankings will be honored after their respective races.
According to the athletics regulations, only the gun time – the time from the starting signal to crossing the finish line – counts for official placement.
If net time were used instead, runners starting further back could achieve a faster overall time but not cross the finish line first. This would take away the excitement for spectators, athletes, and media. The first person across the finish line should be the winner – and celebrated accordingly.
Prizes for Top Age Group Runners
Awards will be given to the best runners in each age group.
The top three finishers in each age group in both the half marathon and the marathon can look forward to attractive prizes.
No prize money will be awarded.
Note for International Participants
The WVV Marathon Würzburg does not offer any benefits or special services for international participants.
No prize money will be awarded and no invitation letters for visa applications will be issued.
